Grandad and Grandma Haubenreich visit

Grandad and grandma stopped by after their visit to Milwaukee to see Jeff and Annie and the boys. As always, the girls greatly enjoyed their time with both. Jenna got to know grandma quite well (and even did so well Kristin and I got a date out of the few days), while Anna and Emily enjoyed the walks and the wrestling. Thanks for coming Grandad and Grandma.

Howl-Zoo-Ween

Yes, it is almost halloween, and so we headed for the Peoria Zoo to trick-or-treat. And of course, when you go to a zoo to trick-or-treat ... you should dress up as animals. So, we have Anna as a lion, Emily as a cow, and little Jenna as a leopard. Lots of fun, lots of candy, and a ride on the Twirl-a-Pumpkin.

A visit to the Apple Orchard

We seem to really enjoy visiting apple orchard's in the Peoria area. So, while Addlea was visiting, Kristin and the girls took Addlea. Even Jenna enjoys a beautiful fall day, especially when a slide or swing is involved. Also, see the pictures of the orchard that are posted on our discussion about Addlea's visit.

Addlea comes for a visit

Addlea, our neice enjoying her freshman year at Trinity International University on the North side of Chicago, came to visit us during her fall break. The girls (especially Anna) adore Addlea and fill her days with games, laughter and girl things. Thankfully - Addlea is a great sport about it. Here are a few pictures of the girls with Addlea enjoying life.

Emily takes over baby duties

I forget how much work a baby is ... and now that Jenna can move, we seem to always be busy with something. So, we put Emily to work feeding Jenna. Maybe we have a little bit more to clean up at the end ... but it keeps two of them busy for a few minutes.

The tooth fairy comes for a visit

The tooth fairy will be visiting our house tonight as Anna lost her first tooth today. She is so proud of this accomplishment ... and even without any crying. She was outside playing, and fell down the hill, when she got up, she came over to mom because she thought she had skinned her knee. Kristin said "Anna, your mouth is bleeding ... let's see if it's your tooth". And it was. A quick pull, and out came the tooth. Hooray for the tooth fairy!!!

Uncle Joe and Aunt Suzi come for a visit

Uncle Joe and Aunt Suzi from Nashville came for a visit this weekend. The girls were so excited to see them again ... and spent many hours listening to Uncle Joe read stories, combing his hair and looking for stuff outside, while Suzi spent time teaching Jenna that someone other than mom and dad are fun (Jenna did great with Aunt Suzi). We had a great time just talking and hanging out ... even Zeus had a good time. Thanks for driving so far to visit us.

Visiting Addlea at Trinity University

Our neice Addlea is at Trinity University in Chicago ... and we met there to see Addlea's college. We had a great time (even if it wasn't too warm) hanging out with the cousins and goofing off. Jenna slowly warmed up to everyone ... although several pictures later she is screaming loudly (we didn't post that one).

Another week, another car trip

For two weekends in a row, we have taken car trips. So - for entertainment ... how about pictures of kids in car seats (hey ... it kept them entertained for a few minutes).

Our weekend in St. Louis

We spent this last weekend in St. Louis with our friends the Pickers. Their oldest (Kennedy) is between Anna and Emily; and their youngest is just 2 weeks younger than Jenna. We had a great time hanging out with our friends, and really enjoyed watching the girls play. We went to Grant's Farm on Saturday, and enjoyed feeding the goats and seeing a fun show (see the birds acting like Clydesdale horses).
