Kangaroo Island, Australia - Day Tour

On December 31st, we did an all day tour on Kangaroo Island.  Interesting, but not excellent.

Our group.  Our tour guide (on the right) referred to Jenna all day as "possum".

Snack time

Climbing a tree house to see Australian possums.

A hike through the woods!

A classic Australia road.

A really cool beach, and a neat secret way to get there.

A koala ... wandering around to try and get through the fence.  It didn't work ... he got his head stuck!

Our tour bus.  Here we are out in the bush for lunch, made by our two guides.  It was excellent.

As we were headed to and from our lunch location, the local sheep thought we were the food truck.  Funny to watch the quick migration of the sheep.

Seal Bay ... to see the seals.  Actually, Sea Lions, but because they have external ears ... they are in the Seal family.

Kangaroo Island, Australia

On the 30th, we had a long driving day to Kangaroo Island.  We needed to make the 4:30 ferry across the water to our next adventure.  Once there, we still had almost an hour drive to our cabin (Seal Bay Cottages).  A quaint, rustic cabin on 35 acres ... without all the fancy amenities.  The restaurant had an excellent burger.  And, many koalas, including one outside the registration office, and one outside our cabin.

The car ferry from mainland Australia to Kangaroo Island.  About 45 minutes.

A dead snake.  We had seen many snake warnings, but this one was the only one we saw.

A kangaroo outside our cabin.  It is dusk, so the picture isn't great.
