After Christmas Snow

It started snowing on Christmas day ... and just stopped on the 27th leaving with us with 10 inches or so. The winter wonderland is also a winter playground for the girls. And, as the bottom picture shows, Emily likes throwing snowballs at dad.

Merry Christmas

Christmas morning came with all the fun three little girls can dream up. Here is just a taste of our morning that included presents, singing, snowman pancakes (with chocolate chips), a few snowflakes and a big mess.

Fun in the snow

There is snow at our house, and the girls (plus the dog) are enjoying the snow. Just a couple of inches on the ground ... but the fun sledding and shoveling can't be beat. Not sure if it will stay for Christmas as we may get rain this week. We will enjoy the snow for those of you who don't have it.

Halloween ...

Oh how fun Halloween was, once we convinced Jenna that this could be fun. As soon as she got the whole "I get candy" concept, all was good. It was a little chilly, so they got cold. But, we had fun. Mommy made most of Anna and Emily's costumes, and Jenna was a "buzzy bee" (as Jenna said) that Florida grandma had given Emily a few years ago. And yes, our pumpkin has heart eyes ... that's what happens when you live in a house with princesses.

Fall fun

Today was a beautiful fall day ... with decently warm weather, lots of beautiful colors, and some leaves on the ground. Sounds like a perfect day to play outside to me.

Swiss Cheese

Autumn is here, and so Anna decided she needed to enter a contest at school in regards to a pumpkin decorating (no carving) contest. She decided a mouse was the way to go ... and so Kristin and Anna began work on the mouse. I wasn't quite sure how it would turn out, Anna wasn't sure why mommy was such a perfectionist ... and Kristin enjoyed sharing her creativity with Anna. So ... the outcome, a cute little mouse named "Swiss Cheese".

Recent visits ...

Yes, we had recent visits from the grandparents. Both visits were wonderful times for the girls to be crazy with their grandparents, and to make them play crazy games. Anna loved having more people to see her off on the bus, Emily loved extra playmates, and Jenna liked the attention of "grammies".

Emily turns 4

Emily turned 4 on September 16th. What a great day for a little girl. We had two parties ... which meant two birthday cakes. The first one is a buffalo from our recent South Dakota trip. The second cake is a dinosaur ... which our girls seem to think is cool right now. She loved having Addlea come visit, and then Papa and Grandma. A trip to the local apple orchard was also a big hit (pictures of that to come later). Her favorite present (it appears) is at the bottom ... an Emily sized puppy dog.

Jenna goes to the hospital

Jenna spent Wednesday night (Sept. 9th) in the hospital with pneumonia and viral bronchiolitis. We took her in because she had a very high fever and was breathing very deeply and hadn't slept well in several nights. She spent almost 19 hours in the hospital receiving breathing treatments, an IV (which she didn't necessarily enjoy) and good care. She is now back at home, and getting better by the minute, which means back to her crazy self. Now that things are looking up ... here are a couple of cute pictures from our little escapade.
