ICS School Awards

On the last day of school, Kristin and I were invited to the award ceremony at ICS.  Our invitation did not tell us what award(s) or which child would be getting an award.  Boy, were we in for a surprise!

Emily received the Interpersonal Award for her section of 1st Grade.  We can hardly believe that our shy little girl is now known for her interpersonal skills.  Pretty amazing year for her.  Additionally, she received the Best Listener Award for her section of 1st Grade as well.  Way to go Emily!!!

Anna received the Spiritual Award for her section of 4th Grade.  Anna's teacher often told us how well she listened to her, was a good example for her classmates, and was a good friend to those who needed a friend.  Anna was very surprised, and very happy to receive this award.  She has worked hard this year, and we are very proud of her!  Way to go Anna!!!

Celebration Dinner

We celebrated several items this last week with dinner out to Jumbo Seafood at Dempsey Hill.  Fun dinner with shrimp, lobster, crab, chicken, etc.

First, we celebrated one year living in Singapore.  It has been a great year with many exciting aspects ... and even a few frustrations.  But, we made it, and we are happy to be here.

Next, we celebrated the end of the school year for Addlea as a teacher and Anna and Emily as students.  All had a great and very successful year.

End Of The Year - Hanging Out With Friends

At the end of the year, the girls took a couple friends to the American Club for a day of swimming, bowling, Legos, air hockey and lunch. They will miss many of their friends during the summer break. In Singapore, with so much Expat turnover, many friends leave each year that we may never see again. The girls have been sad several times due to a family leaving where they have met a good friend. Emily, especially, has lost several good friends from 1st Grade.

Recent Jenna Cameos

Jenna provides lots of comical pictures due to her personality. Here are just a few of the latest.

Pool time, with her favorite hamster friends.

After pool time ... she was cold.

Jenna providing babysitting services to one of Addlea's teddy bears.

Jenna does her best impression of one of her favorite shows ... Duck Dynasty!!!

Jenna heads off to the mall with Addlea and Cora. She always enjoys an outing with the big girls.

Reader's Theater - Emily

Emily participated in Reader's Theater recently, as Billy Goat Gruff #2.  She has learned a lot this last year in school and done really well.

Waiting for the performance to start.  You can see the excitement building.

 Time for Billy Goat #2
 Crossing the bridge.
Oh no, the troll.  But, she made it over the bridge without being eaten.

Random Singapore Pictures

Here are just a couple recent pictures from our adventures around Singapore.  Our daily adventures keep us busy.

Around Singapore, there are a lot of cows showing up.  Not sure what they mean, but they are fun.

A Chinese parade down a local street.

Our friends Sue Ann and Don from Moulmein Church.

An afternoon at the playground.

Singapore Snippet

I guess this is what you would call the Singapore version of Terminix.  In the attempts to keep Dengue fever away, these guys come and spray for mosquitos.  Typically, in a tropical climate, mosquitos would be more plentiful.  But in the standard Singapore way, the efficiently and effectively take care of these little guys.  That isn't to say there aren't the little biting creatures, but it isn't too common that one of us get bit.

Three Legged Race

Emily and Addlea getting ready for a 3-legged race at a block party at ICS (school).  The crazy antics of the two girls were fun to watch, but in the end, Emily decided that it was too hard tied to a "big person".
