Wildlife Prairie Park with Will, Luke & Tom

David, Jessica, Will, Luke and Tom came for a visit in early August.  So, for an adventure, we went to Wildlife Prairie Park for an afternoon of fun.  Hiking, running, exploring and other fun adventures was the fun to the day.

First Days of School

Back to school has arrived. Anna was off to 3rd grade on Wednesday. Initially, she wasn't too excited about returning to school, but as soon as she saw the school bus, her friends, and her new teacher ... she was ready to get back in the swing of things. We won't talk about the wake-up call in the mornings, though.....

Emily started Kindergarten today (Friday)! She was supposed to start on Wednesday, but a nasty virus and an ear infection kept her out the first two days. Emily was full of smiles today as she got on her school clothes, grabbed her backpack, and had mom drop her off. She was wearing a special butterfly pin that belonged to Great-Grandmother Mary Ann as a little angel to watch over her. Emily will start riding the bus with Anna next week. Since kindergarten is only a half day at Wilder-Waite Grade School, Emily will be home by 11:04 AM each day. We can't believe Emily is growing up and ready for this new big adventure.

Colorado Springs

The last part of our Colorado trip was spent in Colorado Springs. We spent a big portion of the first day there at Focus on the Family, enjoying the book store, the 3 story slide, Whitt's End Ice Cream Shop, and a nice big play area. It was a great down day for the girls just to play and relax instead of being pulled around looking at sites. Our final day in Colorado was spent at Garden of the Gods ... unfortunately ... all pictures were lost from this site, so we have nothing to share. But, lunch in Manitou Springs was our final big outing.

More Denver Photos

A part from Casa Bonita and the Denver Zoo, we greatly enjoyed wandering around Denver (primarily downtown). The girls enjoyed ice cream, shopping, playing the piano and fun restaurants.

Denver Zoo

While in Denver, we of course went to the zoo.  It was hot, but we had a fun time seeing bears, porcupines, elphants, monkeys, and of course, a ride on a merry-go-round.

Colorado - Casa Bonita

A trip to Colorado - especially Denver - is not complete without a trip to Casa Bonita.  So, off we went for some Mexican fun.  It was a great night with lots of fun eating, watching divers, listening to a Mexican band, playing games, pinata breaking, etc.  And, here are just a couple of our favorite pictures.

Pool Fun With The Cousins

When we had all the cousins here, we went to the Princeville, IL public pool, and had lots of fun. It has a 2+ story slide, which most of the kids loved. Mommy and Jenna went down together, which ended up with them both being very wet. Lots of fun on a beautiful summer day.
