Home Leave - Random Pictures

Home Leave is over, and we had a great time.  Of course, looking forward to seeing all our family and friends again next year.

Happy faces enjoying Bug Juice and Krispy Kreme donuts on the way to Knoxville.  Yummmmm!

World's Largest Truckstop.  How exciting, sort of.

The sign says Wykoff Jail Bed and Breakfast.  Once a jail, now a bed and breakfast.

Grandma's beautiful flowers.

Emily found a pig at the fair.  The pig wouldn't look at the camera though.

Kristin was amazed at the little kids leading around very large animals at the fair.

Date night to the Hubbell House and a Melodrama, in Mantorville, MN.

The Farm.

Leading singing with the help of Moulmein Church of Christ in Singapore.  Cool way to connect two continents.

Home Leave - A Visit To The Farm

One afternoon, we went to visit Terry on the "old farm" where I grew up.  It was an adventure to see his Highland Cows (Scottish breed) in the woods.  Terry raises them as grass fed animals for butchering to sell the meat as a healthy alternative to the corn fed cows.

The Highland Cows, with their large horns.  Really amazing to see up close.

A young calf (over 1 year old) along with our "guide dog", who is almost the size and fluffiness of the cow.

The younger calves, less than 6 months old.

Cabin built by Terry in the woods.  Rustic, but very nice.

Crossing the bridge to the log cabin.  A pretty exciting adventure for three little city girls.

Finishing out our adventure ... and following the lead dog.

And one Emily story from our day at the farm.  Terry was telling us all about the grass fed cows and how that results in lower cholesterol in the meat.  Additionally, he had mentioned that he didn't have to cut the grass himself around the cabin, since the cows were free ranging.  We didn't think Emily was really listening to all of this until she pipes up with ... "that's a lot of lawn-mooers you have".  That's our quiet and funny little girl!!!

Home Leave - Horsing Around

Baihley had her horse at the fair, so we spent several hours at the fair watching and enjoying the horses, especially Jenna.  She was trying to make a friend with Sox.  Always fun with an animal significantly larger than yourself.

And Jenna's personal time with Sox.

Baihley (or should I say Sox) running poles.

Baihley and her horse friends.

Tyler running the gates and watching all the girls!

Home Leave - Hanging Out With The MN Family

Our last week in the U.S. was pretty laid back, enjoying our MN family.  We especially had lots of time with Papa and Grandma, playing cards and taking walks through Kasson ... and the fair.

Hanging out with Papa and Grandma.

A visit to Auntie Lee and Uncle Roger.

Family Food Time

I think we missed Addlea!!!
