Swim Lessons Begin

Swimming lessons have begun.  Since living in Singapore, we are at the pool at least once per week, so we thought it was the right time to have them learn how to swim.  Anna was very excited, and Emily and Jenna were only marginally interested.  But, they are now having a great time.

Emily and Jenna waitin for their turn.
Anna waiting for her turn.
Anna in the water and is doing great.  She is turning into a real water pro.
Jenna keeps smiling through everything.  Her biggest struggle is keeping her mouth closed while swimming (imagine that).

And Emily- giving it her best.  She doesn't love the water (or the swimming part) as much as the other two, but she is doing great.

Anna Turns 10

Anna is now in double digits. That makes us feel old (at least me). She had a great birthday, full of lots of smiles and presents. Nothing better than that for a kid. Grandma was also here to help celebrate. Anna mostly got books for her birthday, which made her very happy.

Jenna Birthday Cake

The birthday cake for 2013 was another Princess (we think 3 years in a row).  5 is a very important age to turn ... and she is making the most of it.

Lego Adventure at Singapore ArtScience Museum

For an adventure out with Grandma Haubenreich - we headed to the Singapore ArtScience Museum for a Lego exhibit. It was more art than I expected, but it was cool. Here is part of our adventure.

The classic piece that is world famous.

Even the floor, furniture and easel are made of Legos.

Titled "Everlasting - Love lives forever. It outlives youth and a flat stomach and a full head of hair. And that's what makes it beautiful."

Life size person

And the odd

A very big dinosaur was a big hit.

This is a replica of the ArtScience Museum of Singapore, where the Lego show was at.

And finally, 3 girls in Legos.

Welcome to Singapore Grandma Haubenreich

Yeah! Grandma came to visit us.

Family Activities

Happy New Year!  And as the new year has started, we have been enjoying some exciting activities with the girls.  Always an adventure with three full-of-energy little girls.

A trip to the Night Safari with Anna and Emily.  We would love to have better pictures to show, but trying to take pictures of the animals at night without a flash (not allowed in the zoo) does not result in very good pictures.  So, here are just a couple pictures of the girls.

And, to cool off in hot Singapore, we headed for JCube to go ice skating (yes, real ice skating).  A nice Olympic size ice rink was great fun.

Emily and her penguin skating buddy.  By the end, she was quite fast with him.  Next time, maybe she won't need him.

And, some crafts at home since school hasn't started yet.  Always a fun activity, which mommy enjoys as well.  And, thanks to Grandma Haubenreich for most of these activities.
