What to do on a hot day ... and a surprise visitor

The girls got a surprise visitor the other night ... Aunt Marette. Only took a few seconds to warm up. The next day it was HOT, so we got the slip-n-slide out. Would have been a lot more fun if the water pipe coming from the house didn't have a leak into the basement ... but that isn't the girls problem is it.

Ice Skating Lessons

Anna and Emily decided it was okay to take ice skating lessons this spring. Other than how cold it was, they had a pretty good time. Neither of them were moving real fast, but that didn't fall down too often. I think their favorite sport was having to go and find their gloves at the end of each session when the teacher would throw them over the ice ... expecting the students to actually move and go and get them. Quite entertaining to the adults. And then, off for some hot chocolate.

A Great Day For A Hike

While Kristin went to work out, we went for a hike in the woods (Jenna included, but she was in the backpack, so no pictures of her). We saw turkeys, a raccoon and a bunch of dear. Great time hanging out with the 3 girls.

Happy Mother's Day

Kristin and the three girls that call her mommy. What a blessing!

Grandma Haubenreich has a clawfoot tub. So of course, we took pictures.

Grandmother and Grandaddy in Knoxville

The spring break trip also included a trip to Knoxville to visit Grandmother and Grandaddy. The girls had a great time - and Anna received a tutorial from Grandaddy about working with wood, so she spent a good part of the day making a design out of spare pieces that were from his shop. She's quite an artist. Jenna ... enjoyed wandering around the yard ...

Fun trip to Lexington

The girls went off to Lexington for spring break to enjoy the Haubenreich side of our family. The had the great honor of hanging out with our youngest cousin (for this week at least) in Megan. Emily and Megan became great friends.
And for more fun, the kids got to visit Keeneland and see some racehorses practicing for the weekend races. Lots of fun, but those horses are big ... so they did scare little Jenna. Great fun with Tom and Luke - even if it was a little chilly.

and ... for more fun, they went with Granddad and Grandma to a soccer game with their cousins. Will looks great in his uniform. This didn't quite get Anna ready to play soccer ... but maybe a little closer.
