Emily turns three (Sept. 16)

Our little Emily turned three years old today. She wasn't sure if she really wanted a birthday, but as the cards and presents arrived this week, she decided that a birthday would be fun. And yes, she did have fun. We did have one small detour on the agenda today ... Emily had requested chicken for her birthday dinner, so the menu called for chicken on the grill. When I opened the grill tonight ... a rather large mouse caught my attention since he/she was building a nest in the grill. Needless to say ... we didn't use the grill. But back to Emily's birthday night, she had a great time opening her gifts, blowing out the candles, eating cake ... and playing with her presents. We had our neighbors over for birthday cake ... which was fun and made Emily feel very special.
