When we finally got the fish close to the boat, we saw how big it was, and that it wasn't a pan fish. This sent Emily into the back seat of the paddle boat quite quickly. Luckily, the fish cooperated, and we pulled a Northern into the boat. As soon as we had him over the boat, the line broke and I had a ~24 inch Northern laying at my feet in the paddle boat. Anna was radioing (via walkie talkie) into Aunt Marette at the cabin that we needed emergency back-up. It was definately big enough to keep, but Addlea and I really didn't want to. Anna and Emily thought we should keep it and show the rest of the family ... but Addlea and I thought pictures ... and a good story, was good enough. Since Aunt Marette wasn't coming with our emergency back-up as Anna had requested, we kissed our fish good bye ... and tossed him carefully back overboard. Wow - what an adventure. Well worth the price of some wax worms from the local bait shop.
So, without further ado ... I give you Emily's really big fish (especially for being landed by a kid's pole).
