Bukit Batok Nature Reserve

Today we took an outing to a nature reserve nestled in the city.  While a part of the hike made us feel that we were really in the wilderness, another part had beauty with high rises in the back ground.  We saw a number of wild birds that we were not familiar with, squirrels (they aren't that common here), monitor lizards and wild durians.  Lots of fun, until it started raining hard, and that is when our day ended.  But not before a lot of fun, adventure, and sweat.

Wild Durian!!!  Durian is a fruit that is loved by locals, but is very pungent (and not in a good way)!
