The Altar of Heaven reflects the Chinese belief of the relationship between weather and harvesting. Praying for good weather is a custom among the Chinese people. The ancient Chinese believed that Heaven was an almighty god that controlled everything under the sky. Survival was dependent on Heaven's will. To the Chinese people, Heaven is an omnipresent god of nature and is the highest god in the universe.
The Altar of Heaven was a part of very nice and large park, filled with many people. A wonderful place to watch the events of the common Chinese people.
The park was filled with people chatting, exercising, playing games, and selling their wares.

The cows represent sacrifice.
The girls had fun in the park, with the ability to run and explore.
And, we made a few more friends, and drew another crowd.
Trying on some Chinese hats. They just didn't seem right.
