The second day saw us heading for the Great Wall of China. We headed for the Mutianyu section of the Wall, which is farther out, less crowded, and in better shape (in most cases). The Mutianyu section is connected to Juyong Pass in the west and Gubeikou Gateway in the east. This section is one of the best preserved sections and stands out for its unique design. In the Ming Dynasty, as many battles took place at Mutianyu Great Wall, this section was reconstructed with additional beacon towers (22 in all), which provided more storage space for weapons. The defence function of this section was further enhanced with both the outer and inner parapets crenelated, allowing shots to be fired at enemy troops on both sides.
Mao Zedong's saying, "He has has not climbed the Great Wall is not a real mean", was originally used in boosting the morale of his troops during the revolution. Well, we now can say we have accomplished that.
Here we go! The way up!!!

The local merchant, who gave the girls a hard time. And, tried to sell us all his wares. We didn't buy anything.
Jenna practicing her archery out of the small windows along with Wall.
The way down. Definitely easier than walking.
